Dr. Sylvia A. Hollins, Ph.D., L-MHP, NCSC, is a distinguished professional school counselor and trainer with extensive experience in K-12 and university counseling. She holds a master’s and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Alabama, renowned for its CACREP Accredited program. Dr. Hollins' research delves into multicultural counseling competencies, educational equity, and the role of school counselors in trauma and crisis situations. Additionally, she is a certified Consultant from Harvard University's College of Continuing Studies.
Currently, Dr. Hollins is a faculty member in School Counseling at the University of Alabama and leads Austin-Hollins Consulting, LLC, focusing on corporate training in employee wellness, retention, and communication. Her expertise is recognized nationally, evident in her role as an ASCA Site Based Trainer, Historian for the Alabama School Counselor Association, and member of ASCA's National DEI and school counselor educator committees. Outside her professional life, she enjoys family time with her four children, indulges in Netflix, reading, writing, and relishes long beach walks.
